CAPPELLA DELLA PIETA’
Appena superata la porta che immette alla zona più sacra del santuario, a destra abbiamo la Cappella della Pietà così detta per la presenza di una terracotta invetriata di Santi Buglioni (1530 circa) che mostra, appunto, Cristo in Pietà. Oltre la cappella inizia il lungo Corridoio delle Stimmate dove ogni giorno, alle 15 e alle 15:20 si tiene la Processione dell’Ora IX. Il Corridoio è decorato da ventuno affreschi di Baccio Maria Bacci che mostrano momenti salienti della vita di San Francesco. As soon as you pass the door that leads to the most sacred area of the sanctuary, on the right we have the Chapel of the Pietà so called due to the presence of a glazed terracotta by Santi Buglioni (around 1530) which shows Christ in Pietà. Beyond the chapel begins the long Corridor of the Stigmata where the 9th Hour Procession is held every day at 3 pm and 3:20 pm. The Corridor is decorated with twenty-one frescoes by Baccio Maria Bacci which show salient moments in the life of St. Francis.
