THE ROUGH ROCK OF DANTE
The cliff of Stigmata on top of which the Franciscan Santuary of La Verna is located. This big rock, located on the Appennine crest between Casentino and Valtiberina (and so also between the Arno river and the Tevere river) and the Stimgmata of Saint Francis are cited by Dante in the Divine Comedy, 11th canto from the Paradise.
