The Ubertini Castle in Chitignano. The period of the first construction of this castle is unknown; what we know is that it originally belonged to the Counts of Chiusi. Then, from 1261, it belonged to the noble and powerful family of the Ubertini from Arezzo. Guglielmino degli Ubertini, who had become Bishop of Arezzo in 1248, was part of this family. He was known more as a politician and a military leader than as a man of faith. He led the Ghibelline troops against the Florentine Guelphs in the Battle of Campaldino in 1289. Battle in which he died. Visit this page.
